Now
What I'm focused on right now. What is this?
Working at a law firm
In a shocking turn of events, I've been working at a law firm since September 2024.
My official title is "Legal Assistant", in practice I have my hands in pretty much everything that happens day to day. They even let me write critical internal software the attorneys rely on!
The legal industry is a JUICY target for automation
The whole business is one giant bundle of back-office processes: Email and (some) physical mail comes in, filings and phone calls go out, attorneys hop on Zoom hearings, money flows through.
How long until the first fully automated law firm?
The tech to do this exists today! You just need at least one human in the loop to sign off and own liability, I don't work on this full-time, but I'll keep pushing until the attorneys tell me to stop automating.
Kitties
We adopted two Siamese kittens: Tleilax and Caladan.
They poop a lot and are sometimes annoying but they're cute so it's okay.

I also got married :)
